     History
    Old Fort Used during world war 1 and 2, to look out for ships and submarines entering the Houston ship channel. Named Fort San Jacinto, 21 Apr 1899, in commemoration of the 63rd anniversary of the Battle of San Jacinto. 1900 storm damaged the fort. Servied by the Coast artillery starting in 1911.
