The plant is a natural gas/oil-fired steam electric generating facility. The plant consists of four steam turbine generators, and produced a total of 540 megawatts of electricity. The plants main purpose was to stabilize power distribution on Austins 69KV system, and to compensate for the loss of the other power plants and substations.
