There is not much of any documentation on the site after 1847. It seems to be unknown why it was abandoned and what lead to its deterioration. Historical documentation listed the site as "an old ruin" as early as 1874 and there is no account of what caused the initial destruction of the site, some time between 1847-1874. There is little left of the site other than the remnants of some walls. The palace was completed in 1845 and was a place for entertaining foreign celebrities, chiefs, and commoners.
