    It's made up of 6 retaining pools which are all now filled with green water and two stirring pools. There's also two buildings on the site, one of them is really awesome.

    Before being a state park, Sampson was both US Naval training grounds and US Army owned. The military still owns lots of land here, but this big chunk of last was sold off to NY State and it became a park.

    Out in the woods of this park hidden between two pot-hole ridden dirt roads is this abandoned treatment facility (see satellite view).
