All of the classrooms have been converted into apartments and have been trashed since; but some of the hallways have managed to retain their character. I found the courtyard of this building interesting.

Beehive Elementary School was originally built as a township school in 1917 (architect unknown). The
name stems from a local farmer, who harvested honey. It’s the only surviving school of its kind out
of 166 buildings operated by the Cleveland Board of Education. In 1931 an addition was built by
Cleveland architects, Fulton and Taylor (1913-34). Subsequently in the 1980’s the school was converted
by Mike White and Geo Forbes into Beehive Elementary School Classroom Apartments (geared towards
seniors as a retirement property). On April 05, 1984 the building was placed in the National Register of
Historic Places and as such has been left to rot pretty much since.
