This isn't such an exciting site because the pipes are smallish. They start at about 42" and get down to 36" way at the back. I'm a little over 6'2" and managed it with a low-walk on gloves and sneakers though.

Probably the most laid-back underground access you'll ever have to a university.

North Carolina State University is a land-grant college established in 1887. It's expanded over the years, been swallowed by Raleigh, and installed drains headed to the Rocky Branch. I'm having trouble finding exact details for the drains' history, but at least one drain changes to old mortared stone while crossing the train tracks.
Raleigh uses "Sanitary Sewer" manhole covers on drains nearly everywhere.
