     History
Opened in the mid 1950's by the city of Hamilton, this sport's complex featured an outdoor ice rink with wooden roof and enclosed lobby. The surrounding complex featured tennis courts and basketball courts. Eventually the neighboring Hamilton campus of Miami University purchased the complex to allow the campus more parking space. The tennis courts and basketball courts fell into disrepair in the mid 90's. The back picnic shelters and basketball courts became a hang out for local homeless persons. The rink became home to to the local Cincinnati Swords; a Junior hockey team in the CAHA league. It also played host to local Stephen T. Badin High School's hockey team until 2006. In 2007 the ice rink was demolished along with its connecting building to make room for future university expansion.
