The factory itself was built in phases between 1937 and 1963. The largest and most visible structure of the plant was finished in 1984. At that time, it was considered to be one of the largest factories of it's kind in Scandinavia. The plant was in use until 2001. It is now under demolition plans, as the area is scheduled for new houses.
