     History
The Quail Canyon Inn has been a landmark on Oak Glen Ave. in Morgan Hill for more than 60 years. Ranchers, Contractors, and Motorcycle Enthusiasts alike, have been patronizing the quaint old tavern since the 1940s, when you could purchase both a hamburger and gallon of gas, each for under 25 cents.

On August 31, 2005, a fire consumed 75% of the old structure and put Quail owner's Ray & Geogia, temporarily out of business.

    ----------
During a visit to the Quail, Cigar "Skidmark" Charlie noticed a loose board on the front of the building. Upon closer inspection, he saw a piece of old newspaper which was apparently used as insulation. After carefully peeling the page from within the wall cavity, he discovered that the newspaper was dated 1909.

     Future Plans
Initial plans to remodeling the building were completed along with the addition of a kitchen, accomodations for dining, and enhanced views of the lake, but the plans have been put on hold indefinitely. Maybe never even to be rebuilt at all.
