This music camp is "seasonally abandoned" and really open for 1 week every year. When closed, it is heavily boarded up and I could not find any way into this granite masonry cabin. There are many structures at the camp...the main cabin, outhouses, music performing platform (concrete platform), boathouse right on the lake, and a couple other that we could not find in the pitch black dark.

Lake Alpine is a small, scenic reservoir located just east of the community of Bear Valley on State Highway 4, at an elevation of 7,350 feet.

The Bear Valley Young Musicians Camp in the High Sierras, entering its 3rd year, at Lake Alpine, located in Alpine Country, California, is a unique opportunity for dedicated music students, ages 11-17, to participate with world class professionals in both formal and informal environments at the annual Bear Valley Music Festival. Through a week long camp experience, members of the symphony orchestra and guest performers mentor, teach, and play with the young musicians.

Ths site is still active, but only for 1 week every year. Other than that, it is closed. I was there in late May and there was still some patches of snow on the ground, lots of pooled water from melting snow, and plenty of mud/silt.
