 Overview
 Description
This is an abandoned Western Union microwave relay site formerly owned by the now defunct company called "MicroNet Inc.". The site consists of a single 2-room building. The rooms each have their own doors. One room is a diesel power generator room which used to house two generators, although only 1 exists today. The other (larger) room was the main equipment room. There are microwave antenna racks on the roof, but only one large dish remains. There are abandoned miscellaneous items inside....desks, closets, chair, paperwork, diesel generator, misc parts, etc. Tons of graffiti.

  •  Hazards
  • rust
  • lots of broken bottles
  •  Interesting Features
The lone Kato diesel generator is interesting. Unfortunately, it is painted with graffiti, vandalized, and partially scrapped by metal thieves. Although the entire facility is heavily vandalized, it is a unique location in the south bay hills. An interesting piece of south bay area history.
     Security Measures
  • gate (easy to straddle over), local residents like to call the sheriff
  •  Historical Dates
    Built: 0
    Closed: 0
     Required Equipment
  • flashlight
  • shoes/boots with tough soles...lots of broken glass inside!
  •  Recommended Equipment
    tripod

     Media Coverage
none that I could find. I scoured the 'net and could not find a single thing on this site aside from some biking/hiking trail sites that make reference to "going past the abandoned microwave radio station".
     Future Plans
    none, abandoned for good
