"The drive-in was built in 1950 by someone. My grandparents, Richard & Hazel Wyse purchased the theater from that man in 1960. They operated it until my parents, Robert & Kristy Wyse, took it over so my grandparents could retire in 1992. One year after my grandparents' purchase, the screen was blown down by a high wind storm. They rebuilt the screen and then it blew down again the next year, 1962. My grandfather told me that during the'60's, they had field workers who dressed in white and would go around to each car and wash their windows, do security duties, and direct traffic after the movies let out. They terminated the position after one of the field workers was almost hit. Our drive-in was also held up in 1979. The person got away with a couple hundred dollars and was never caught. Our snack bar has been broken into a few times during the late night, early morning after closing. The only money that is left there that is able to be stolen is in the arcade machines. We have two of them located in the snack bar."
