     History
Just a service station and garage, there are 4 generations of ghost signs still visible identifying the owner or partnerships in this little roadside enterprise on old U.S. Hwy 80. Construction appears to be 1930s with the front built of concrete and the back being corrugated steel. I can imagine Clyde Barrow stopping to top off the tank in his Ford here just before the big break in at the National Guard Armory down the street where the gang made off with a load of BARs and hand grenades (where Ranger college is now).

The pumps and hardware still present are late 50s early 60s vintage. One side is used for storage another side may have been a muffler shop most recently. Its been vandalized, burned, beaten down by the wind and rain but in this place nobody seems to mind too much. Afterall, theres more room out here than anything else and maybe some day someone will get around to tearing it down. For now, it just marks another forgotten page in the roadside history of Highway 80.
