A mural in the main hallway self-proclaims the building as the "middle school of the future." The Woodlawn Middle School located in Munhall, PA sits quietly awaiting its new future. The building was purchased as a development property for a new senior citizen home, but zoning variances have halted progress for now. Belonging to the Steel Valley School District, the school closed as recently as the late 1990's, but deterioration has already begun in the form of buckled wooden floors, shattered windows, and collapsed ceilings.
Paranormal enthusiasts reportedly claim that the property is haunted by at least two entities: the ghost of a former janitor, who was burnt to death in the basement, can be seen looking out windows; while a little girl wearing a white dress hums a tune of ring around the rosy.
