Kamikita Mine is situated about 28km to the west of Ottomo Station on Tohoku National Railway Line.

The ore mined here included Kuroko deposits which is massive, stratiform sulphide ores and contain chalcopyrite, sphalerite, galena, barite and quartz. Also mined was copper, iron and pyrites (for sulfuric acid production).

Mining methods adopted here included caving, overhand stoping using long-hole-blasts, and open-pit mining.
