The tiny hamlet, located several miles upriver from Pittsburgh, was named for the industrial activities of the American Bridge Company. A bird's eye view reveals the building's shape as an enormous 'H'. The Ambridge Building contains blueprints for the American Bridge Division of the United States Steel among other interesting features.
The four story building is in sad shape, but the current owner seeks a visionary to repair and redefine the building. Floors four, three, and two contain a maze of empty office after empty office with a crude system of Sticky notes as hallway navigation. Fire damage on floor two reveals ghosted patterns of missing artwork and desks. The first floor or basement holds a treasure trove of historical blueprint machines and paper storage areas hidden behind thick steel doors.
