    Grand architecture
    C'mon, it's a power plant.
At the time of it's construction, it was the world's largest reinforced concrete power station.

Also used for the filming of "12 Monkeys"
(Philly doesn't get to have all of the fun!)

"The 'Engineering Room' in which Cole is interrogated, is the No.4 Turbine Basement of the Westport Power Plant on the shores of the Patapsco River in Baltimore."

     History
Built in 1905 by the Baltimore Ferro-Concrete Company, this power plant brought many jobs to the surrounding area. It was the largest reinforced concrete power plant in the world. It was owned by Baltimore Gas and Electric and was a steam powered plant. It originally used reciprocating steam engines which were quickly replaced by turbines.

Don't know the rest... but you could say it was history! (groan)

It's accessible, but not from the ground. Plus, you have to get around the fence, which is a chore.
