Several boilers that are roughly the height of a small apartment building with metal skeletal superstructure wrapped around it. At the base of the towers is the huge turbine building. Water is fed from an underwater pipe at Buntzen Lake and pours down to the natural gas boilers. Once heated into steam, it drives the turbines and is drained into Burrard Inlet.

The boilers! They have cameras that see into them as well as port holes that let you watch the large plumes of blue and green flames. Architecture that is composed entirely of a steel mesh skeleton, allowing you to see in all directions through its walls. The flimsy homemade-stitched insulation used to insulate the turbines. Large wall that has been blown apart by an explosion caused by a massage hydrogen leakage. A counter at the front gate that shows in large numbers the amount of days since the last accident.

"As discussions between BC Hydro and the province indicate a possibility that the Burrard Thermal Generating Plant could be mothballed and coal-generated electricity be utilized instead, Port Moody Council reiterated the City’s support of the continued operation of the Burrard Thermal plant."
