     History
This was a very active amusement park until the early 1950s. Things were removed and burned down and it decayed into a blighted urban park, until the bridge from downtown Bridgeport burned almost completely on Father's Day, 1996. Now, it can only be accessed by boat, or over land from a neighboring town.

     Future Plans
Over the years, many redevelopment plans have been proposed and scrapped, including a Trump casino. As of December 2007, a final plan is nearly approved to demolish the cottages and expand the Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge. In the end of 2009 and beginning of 2010, everything was demolished and the remaining residents were finally told to leave.
