 Overview
 Description
Three story warehouse with dozens of concrete chambers. Most contain artifacts and light machinery that was left behind, along with old paperwork and records. The top floors appear to be either offices or packaging space, the ground floors are shipping a warehouse space, and most basements cells are fitted with refrigerators. A long, cramped utility tunnel (full of asbestos) runs the length of the building through the basement.

The warehouse sees frequent traffic. Papers and boxes have been dumped out everywhere; the place is full of (decent) graffiti, broken equipment, evidence of vagrants and art students (seriously) living inside. Most of the elevators and windows are broken, and some wall sections are seriously messed up, including one spot on the second floor where the wall and rebar have been torn out completely.

A small section of the warehouse (at the end facing the mall) was removed and bricked over to make room for a new 95 off-ramp.

A section of the wood frame interior was damaged by a suspicious fire in April 2005, but the structure was not compromised.

** On December 14, 2005 there was another fire inside the warehouse, presumably started by vagrants trying to cope with weeks of sub-zero temperatures. Of course, Providence city officials will engage in the time honored tradition of the "knee jerk reaction". The people responsible for policing and protecting the area have been embarrassed, and will deliver angry statements about how something should have been done beforehand to prevent this from happening, without actually taking blame for not doing anything to prevent this from happening. The general public, completely oblivious to the homeless problem, or that this building even exists, are now furious that arsonists are trying to destroy city property, and demand that their tax dollars fund an ample display of force to protect the building until everyone forgets about it. The property, which apparently belongs to the City of Providence, will be re-secured (which, following the example of the Ladd, doesn't mean much), frequent and intense patrols of the area will continue for a few months, and anyone caught looking at the building funny will get slapped with the maximum sentence possible for arson.
There are currently no concrete plans to alter or refurbish this building. It will still be here in the spring. With increased surveillance, attention and risk of encountering vagrants, it's probably best to wait until then before attempting entry.

     Future Plans
Two new sets of condos and aparments opening up this year litterally across the street from this site, and this place sits right behind the mall. Similar to most abandoned spaces in Providence, the art-buzz inflation is could gobble this place up in 2006.
