The Town Hall, built in the Romanesque architect style, features Duntroon sandstone arches. Latest technology of the time was built into the structure, including: steam heat, electricity and telephones.
Note the sturdy red brick, and heavy clock tower. Original mechanical lock, imported from England, has since been replaced with an electric replica.
Be sure to say "Hi Mom" to the A Channel tower cam.

The Market Building, now the Town Hall was built in 1889. Cornerstone laid on August 21, 1889. Housed the council room, courthouse, Grand Opera House and a few stores. Former jewelry store now the Mayor's Office.
Building subsequently burned down after open only a few months, and then was completely rebuilt.
Completely gutted and renovated in the 1980's.
