The tunnel was build in 1895 as the Brock street tunnel by P.W. George the city engineer at the time. The tunnel was build in order to make a link between the harbour and the city in order to speed up merchandise transfer. The tunnel links directly to the old frigorific warehouse.

Today the tunnel is known as Tunnel Beaudry, is abandoned and is sqatted every summer. The tunnel was chosen as the movie set for "Le dernier tunnel" movie in which Brock street tunnel is supposed to be the sewer under St-Antoine st. The tunnel was probably closed around 1960 when the developpement of road and highways made it useless.
     Media Coverage
very few except for movie set and sqatters expulsion.
     Future Plans
The condo transformation in the frigorific warehouse could give a new life to the tunnel.
