 Overview
 Description
Beyond the ghost stories told of this area (check links), it is more of a nice stroll in the woods and some neat ruins to see. Starting off the road, you enter a quiet forest, following a trail beside Carruther's Creek. Lots of strange garbage has been dumped here, from childrens' toys to car seats to appliances. Thanks to all the a-holes spoiling nature that way.

A little ways down a pond comes into view, scummy and still. Lots of bugs, so bring your bug spray. If you are lucky, as we were last weekend, you can see Kingfishers playing and skimming the water going after bugs. There always seem to be dragonflies around, some with amazing colours.

You will then notice that the pond has been created by a small old concrete dam. Covered in debris, it can only be seen in some areas. It can be a trick to walk along it, as you must cross to the other side to get to the actual ruins.

Once across the dam, you can barely see the stonework amongst the trees. The forest is very thick here, especially in the summer. Walking over, it appears to be the remains of the chimney, with the outline of the foundation visible through the detrius on the forest floor.

Going past this, you can see what appears to be some sort of underground storage area. It seems that the roof was made of wood, with dirt over top. As the wood rotted, the dirt fell in, leaving a depression in the ground with a doorway and the remains of a corrugated metal awning. Beside this is what looks like an old hydro pole, though I am not too sure what it really is.

That is about it for the main site. If you want, you can continue down the path to get to the infamous "Salem's Lot" where the hauntings supposedly occur. Basically a clearing with a firepit, not much to see there. Some strange artifacts and tree carvings due to it being a local teen party spot. This is likely the core of the legends here, teens come at night, partake in their substance of choice, and then get all wigged out by being in the woods at night.

A ways further down the path, it ends at a set of CN rail tracks.

     History
Unfortunately, there is not much known about this place. I have done a fair bit of research and found squat. I know others who have tried to find information with the same disappointing results. Seems to be a mill, based on the location and features seen. All I have ever found is a passing reference saying that the dam was built in the 1930s, so I assume the ruined structure was as well.
     Media Coverage
None that I am aware of...
     Future Plans
Either staying natural, possible farming, worst would be housing - which is rather possible as the area is developing at an alarming rate.
