Nahant station was built in 1889—1900 "on the neck, close to Nahant" on Short Beach between Broad Sound and Nahant Bay. The total land area is 1.04 acres and the land was acquired by an Act of Congress in 1898. The launchway was built on the site in 1939.

I don't know what the future of this place is, but I drove by recently and it said "Restoration works!" So I'm assuming they will turn it into a museum of some sort.

Construction almost completed.

UPDATE appears to be a fully functional restored building.... I don't know what they are doing with it, but it certainly isn't abandoned anymore.
