 Overview
 Description
The only building that is abandoned is huge. It appears to have been a hangar for housing missiles and other equipment relative to the base.

It appears that after the base was closed, the government started selling off sections of the building to smaller companies. Within the hangar itself, there are rows of offices, repair garages for cars (complete with...uhh...cars), medical facilities, and much more.

     History
Former NIKE missile base. According to the little research that I have done, a dozen some odd missiles were housed here. The IFC is now a nursing home.

After its closure, the space was rented out to many different organizations. One of the hangars has been converted into a storage facility for the Mass Highway Department. Space within the largest hangar on the site has been owned by Toyota, a local towing company, a biotech startup, and probably many more.

     Future Plans
I know FOR SURE that this place is eventually going to be torn down for a low income housing development.

[THIS INFORMATION NOT NECESSARILY 100% ACCURATE] A friend of mine mentioned that in the local town paper not too long ago, a map of the development was printed. The road leading from the preexisting street up the hill to where the base would be was named "Avalon Drive." That can only mean one thing. Avalon Gay is at it again.
