 Overview
 Description
The actual name is "Post Attack Command and Control System". Numerous vents dot the side of the mountain behind the bunker. The remains of an antenna are at the summit. Some of the concrete entrances and bunkers on top of the mounds have doors and windows which are welded shut. The building is currently active, and is the home of the UMass Amherst library depository. There are several other large mounds in the vicinity, all with ventilation. This suggests a tunnel network below ground, with multiple rooms. One has to assume that the military was prepared to spend time here if needed. The buildings, entrances, and access road are set up to be defended easily. The web links below have some photos from the cold war era.

     Interesting Features
In the event of nuclear attack on Westover Airforce Base, the CIC was to be moved to this location. The bunker is on the other side of Taylor Notch, buried into the side of the mountain. Even if Westover was vaporized, along with most of the Pioneer valley, combat operations could continue.
