This building was gutted by a salvage company and so all of the equipment, intercoms, computers, and marble have been since removed however alot of stuff was left. On the upper floors there are alot of rooms full of clothes still on hangers, childrens artwork, boardgames, and even a classroom. This place won't be around much longer, if you want to see it nows your last chance.

     History
The Sisters of St. Mary from St. Louis, had done the nursing at Kansas City's German hospital for 10 years before this 4-story brick hospital at Twenty-eighth and Main streets was built for them in 1907.

Howe & Hoit were the architects and the original cost, including ground, was $150,000. There were 250 beds, 72 of which were free. A new wing in 1916 added an elaborate chapel on the top floor, Later a 3-story nurses' home, training school power plant and laundry were built.

The 7-story St. Mary's hospital built in 1950 was consolidated with the old section, the facility covered more than four square blocks. Now the hospital has been torn down and is is in the process of being demolished.
