     History
Founded in 1766 by Thomas Bullett, who later served with George Washington in the American Revolution, The Homestead has been a favorite destination of 20 American Presidents, European and Asian royalty and nobility, and countless guests for more than two centuries. The heritage and traditions of this legendary resort continue to beckon travelers today to the perfect relaxation and restoration of its scenic Allegheny Mountain home. The classic Georgian-style resort features a library with historical displays, a renowned spa, natural spring waters and an exceptional golf instruction school. Noted for its championship golf, The Homestead boasts three courses, including the Cascades Course, ranked first in the state of Virginia, and the Old Course, which features America's oldest continuously played First Tee.

     Future Plans
This place is forever expanding. Right now they are on a big kick to really make the place well known as a conference facility, in addition to a world-class resort/spa. Also just built a huge outdoor pool/water park, putt putt course, and completely renovated the spa.
