It's a very very large camp, very spread out, one side of Stickle Pond Road is the lake, homes, pool, etc - on the other is the mess hall, cabins, gym, horse stables, etc. There are a lot of kind of hard to find places, definately worth exploring the woods. Turns out that the place is partially remodeled, which spoiled some of the nostalgia and a lot of the spook factor. Buildings are mostly locked, and some are too obvious from the road. People live on the property and they are opening the camp, and they were nice. She was more than happy to let me look around (which I did in greater detail, even thought I asked after we had already been almost everywhere). It's a nice place to just walk around - kids spent 8 weeks there a summer, it should be. Beware of bugs - perhaps what I remember most is the bumber of bugs - somethings will never change, even after this place is abandoned for a second third years from now!!

Here is what I know... It started as a boys camp that the Abbey across the river ran. I know it was a boys camp casue the ladies rooms had urinals...anyway. In the late 70's the Young family rented it and ran a summer camp, Lane Robbins (I'm an allum of about 11 summers). In 1994 (I think) there was a bunch of damage and the Abbey refused to sell the property, or fix it. Lane Robbins moved to NY (GO NY) and is now Hilltop in Hancock. Anyway, I guess there have been people living in the main house on and off for years. I just learned (after my visit) that the camp will reopen next year.
