  •  Interesting Features
Some of the best graffiti in Huntington is at this site. It's also interesting to try to determine how the park originally was laid out -- the hillside has slipped into the park, and obscures some of the walls.

    Long pants and boots
In the 1980s, when skating began to become popular, the city of Huntington decided to open a skate park. A few years later it closed, due I think to insurance costs. The park, abandoned for more than a decade, is in disrepair, but still visited by occasional skaters.

     Future Plans
I'm not sure what's happening in the area -- not yet -- but The Falcon has been demolished. Someone, either the park board or a private owner if the land has been sold, has bulldozed the entire hillside. If anything remains of the skatepark, it's under several feet of fill.
