    Not too much transformed basement,

    Boston, New-York style industrial building,

    Could be partly from the same architect as the Canada Malting Co.

     History
    Built in 1880 for the Merchants Manufacturing Co., a textile company which was later part of the Dominion Textile Co. Ltd. as the cotton mills branch of Montreal thakns to the addition across the street (4035 St-Ambroise), the building was enlarged in 1892, 1898 across the street, in 1906 for an 7 story brick warehouse and in 1916. The architect was David R. Brown and the work was done by The Hussey Construction Co. for some of the enlarging work. They buildng was also home of the Coleco toy factory. the merchants building for most of the 60s 70s and 80s was owned by coleco and they manufactured board games, electroinic games and cabage patch dolls, (check the boxes on old toys) they loading docks, torn down in the late 90s , had a huge toyland mural on them
