Sparrows Point was the company town built adjacent to the Bethlehem Steel mills. Around 1972 the town was demolished and the mill expanded onto the land where the town once stood. Very little remains of the old town, except for some of the streets. Here the old trolley rails, unused since 1958 and which were never paved over, can be seen; trolleys used to run right down the town's main street through where the blast furnace stands today. This photo is probably taken at what was the intersection of 6th and D Streets, looking east.
