You know....if I was a tagger, I think my creedo would be to redo these old painted logos. Bring them back to life and into the present, with just a little sig in the lower right hand corner.

Too bad they sandblasted the logo. They could at least keep that intact!

Have you seen the place post-condos? It's freaky shit, man. The old ghosts show right through. So sad =_(

Actually, I think Redpath was a great example of good condos projects. They kept most of what they could keep and integrated some historical elements to the interior design. What else would have happen to the old Redpath? Demolition? The place was in such a sorry state during the last few years of abandonment... I'm glad someone saved it. Just as I'm glad of what the old Loews has become. Lost of $$$ went into historical preservation. Better condos than demo I think.

i agree, i would rather see creative reuse than demolition, who cares if that re use is condos, it preserves a building. One of the best re uses i have seen is the hudsons warehouse in detroit, they worked it into ford field

They even took the old bricks of the demolished parts to pulverised them and make new ones so it would match the rest. That is quite good !

I would have liked to see it as an arts center with low income housing. I would also like world peace. :P

The forth floor was popular for squatters, that is about as low income as it gets. And it would be cool if they left some of the graffiti in some parts of redpath. I think the old timer was a historical part of the place aswell.

As the Canal became more and more popular I think the place was getting scary for some people. I can just imagine some of the stories that might have went around.
