Normally I wouldn't make a new thread for something like this, but I could not find the montreal histoire thread.

Montreal by Night - 1947 NFB Documentary
http://www.youtube...G8&feature=related

Languages do not matter for this video, it's all about looking at the black and white film... look how beautiful Le Cinema de Paris was in those days.

Montréal (1ère partie), 1957, Archives de la Ville de Montréal
http://www.youtube...t0&feature=related

Look at 1:04.. they show a shot of the city from across the water.. quite different looking back then.

Anyways, add your own oldschool montreal videos that you enjoy too.

Nice.

The Centre d'histoire is showing some old films as part of the Nuit Blanche. Not sure if it'll be the same stuff as seen in the Quartiers Disparus exhibit, or something else.

I think nel already mentioned this elsewhere, but another "don't miss" Nuit Blanche thing will be micro's multimedia exhibit at DHC/ART in Old Montreal:

I suppose you could get tanked checking out the art installations in the underground city if you wanna keep warm. Not that the weather forecast is looking *that* bad.

To keep this post somewhat on topic, the NFB has a boat load of historic films available for online viewing:
