No, we were in the Jewelery district, and were on some fire escapes. We dont take things, dont even carry markers, but I was however armed with a small arsenal of tools.

I went to court already, but no charges have been pressed. Anyone else familiar with this? Im shitting it.

Easy for me to say this, but I wouldn't worry too much. They can accuse you and charge you with anything. But without evidence, it will be hard to actually get a conviction. They are probably going to try and make you an example, and expect you to plead out out your case (I'd get a lawyer if you can, and not plead guilty or take any deals if they have no evidence).

Some people will take a deal to avoid a trial out of fear, even if the evidence against them is really weak. The police know this and use this to there advantage.

By law they have to show that aside from trespassing, you had intended to commit either a petty crime (tagging, minor theft, etc) or felonious crime (Grand theft, etc). That's why I asked if you had taken anything or had equipment that could be for actions like scrapping, etc.

Just trespassing in an area with valuable items isn't enough to show you had come there to take any of those items.

So when you say you had a lot of tools with you, did the police keep any of them as evidence? That's where it gets tricky. When I explore, especially in Los Angeles, I carry almost nothing but my camera equipment, water and food.

Another aspect to consider is your record. Do you have a clean record? Or are there any other crimes of a similar nature that you have been charged with in the past 5-7 years?

Nice explore, and a very large building. Hope I'll get out there sometime and can see it too.

WOW! This place looks a lot like the old Montgomery Wards building in East Oakland. They demolished it and built a school over it's grave. Never got a chance to explore it though

I remember seeing an old VHS tape of a community walkthrough of the place, it was a mix of pristine and junked. Junkies and gangsters were holed up in some places, so it totally wasn't safe.
