| | A few places on the way to Kadina < on 7/9/2011 9:27 AM >
| | | Today I had to drop one of my boys off at their dad's house, and then the youngest and I thought, well why not go for a drive. So we did. From Oaklands Park to Kadina. Saw a few old stone houses, some political "art" - but I didn't really get to go into them because my youngest was feeling a bit under the weather and is now curled up in bed watching tv. Seems he has caught the flu.
Anyway - here are a few pics that we snapped along the way. 1.

| | | Looks like a great place to live and raise up a couple of boys.......I really like the spaceship and the rat. Those buildings sure look like they don't want you in there. Take care of the little guy. You should probably buy him a motorcycle, that would make him feel a lot better!!!!!! Love the new avatar photo, the wispy hair thing works well for you.

| | | Ha! He would love a motorbike.. and probably end up breaking a leg or something on it Maybe when he is a little bit older One of the houses, the one with the caravan out the back of it was on a deserted stretch of road, had SO MANY warning signs on it. It was for sale, but you were not allowed to go onto the property to look at it. Even had "Beware of dog" signs. I will go back there on the next free weekend that I have to myself. That way I can stop and look at everything that I want to. It was a cold and rainy day today and with kiddo not feeling the best we just briefly stopped and took cursory pics. And um thanks - it helps to hide my face

| | | I've broken many bones on motorcycles, it doesn't hurt a bit, and they heal very quickly................. And take this bit of advice from an old man that has a daughter about your age. One day we will all look back, and see how fantastic we looked. Use this fact to your advantage now. You are gorgeous, just ask your boys..

| | | My youngest has enough trouble with his bones as it is at the moment. He isn't allowed to use a trampoline, do high impact sports and lots of running. He has something called Perthes Disease, but thankfully is on the tail end of it now. Believe me he will fully make up for all the time he has lost .. it's hard enough trying to get him to slow down now So motorbikes will wait just a few more years And a daughter my age? You do know that I am about to turn 36 right? And my boys say that I am okay looking, except when I pull scary faces, then Im really ugly

| | | Yeah there were a couple that we didn't get pictures of. There was a bu holdin a knife and fork and some dummies in a lookout. My son loved the spaceship and the bu with the cutlery. Will have to get pics of them on my next trip. Went to Moonta on a school camp in year 11, was a drive home that I will never forget. My eldest wants to go see the mines

The mines are okay, few old ruins but nothing amazing. One of the shafts is guarded by bees! Most fun to be had is hooning around the back roads looking for mines, our black Subaru was orange by the end of the day

| | | My car is white, and it still looks pretty dirty, I went on many a dirt road this past weekend and it was raining. I remember we camped near Moonta somewhere, this little caravan park, all us yr 11's in tents, and there were these tiny hopping mice EVERYWHERE.. girls were screaming, boys were yelling, I was .. ohhhh look how cute they are They got into our sleeping bags and everything. My eldest wants to see the mines, and anything that resembles train tracks etc. So the next weekend I have him on his own, I am taking him up there. I think it will probably be not this weekend, but the one after. I will take many more pics When were you at Moonta?

| | | Eww beer. And a holiday would be lovely, where do I get me one of those? School holidays here, two lovely weeks of my two boys bickering one minute and laughing silly the next. I feel for you being in Melbourne, it's colder and wetter there. If you ever come back to S.A let me know, it'd be nice to meet another explorer.
