|  | | | Frankfurt is the home of several German beer brands. One of the breweries had a Silo in the middle of Sachsenhausen with an adjacent restaurant for guest. Until 1974 the silo was the highest building in Frankfurt.
Some parts of the building have been demolished already but the restaurant is still there and so is the tower. The latter, however, I yet have to find a way to enter (which is way more difficult than expected. Am still working on it though). As the Silo is one of my "home spots" there are more pictures to follow. The building has been abandoned for quite some time now and is suffering from a lot of vandalism (a vast amount of graffitis, destroyed interior, etc.). Furthermore I am pretty sure that the place is being sort of a second home to some people.
These pics having been pretty much my first in UE and in photography itself, I ask you for your forgiveness if the pics don't meet the high quality expectations (but I can guarantee you, I am making rather good progress ;) ).

| | | | Went back last friday to check in on the location again after some time. First thing that raised my attention were the increased security measures (barbed wire on the main entrance). Funny enough the unofficial entrance (which is just around the corner) is still freely accessible.
Apparently some people went in some time ago and "renewed" the graffitis on the walls in the restaurant. to give them credit - it looks way better now ;)
What, however, annoys the fuck out of me is that I still couldn't find a way up on the tower. There are stairs but access has successfully been blocked. Following two leads, one of which even seems to be rather promising on getting up there. If anyone of you guys knows the apparently well kept secret I would gladly welcome any hints ;)
