May 22 Exploring

A friend and I have been wanting to get out and explore quite a bit lately...but both of us are on a very limited budget and can't afford to drive much past our area. So after lots and lots of scoping around, we found a couple decent enough places.

http://www.flickr....72157626686078213/

-The first place we tried was a truss and joist manufacturing plant. It closed about 2 years ago, and everything is still there....everything. Before hopping over the gate, we drove around to make sure there wasn't any kind of security and what not. Didn't see a soul, or any other vehicles on the entire property. Well, I get over the gate, and as my friend is making his way a car rolls by this access road really slowly; dude inside is staring at us. We jump back over, he rolls back by smiling at us....so we took that as either he accidentally took the road, or he called the cops and more/less let us know it. So we took off before any trouble.(Met a cop about 30 seconds down the road)
-The second place was an old house out in the boondocks of the boondocks...nothing exciting, but better than nothing.
-The last was an old Granite Quarry. Place was HUGE...took two 1/2 miles of walking just to get to a sign, and then another 1/2 mile to get to the quarry itself. We saw bullet shells, bullet holes, and shotgun blasts in a lot of areas...mostly on the locks of doors, fuel tanks, etc...but when we noticed the higher caliber shells(5.56, .223, etc..) and then later the giant holes in a diesel tank, we got a little creeped out. Turns out, the place [when in operation] had discovered a couple of hidden bodies. So, an investigation was called. More and more bodies were found. The place got shut down. After that, it got to where it was basically a murder dump. No, really. (Hence the "Law Enforcement/GBI" sign in the album)

Thanx man!
Still wish we could have gotten into the Truss/Joist plant...so many things to climb!! Maybe another time.
