Rockford is totally worth the trip, just for the big place with the stuff--I've spent about 7 hours there over three trips and I'd still be happy to go back. There's also a couple of other places that I didn't check out that might be doable. Everything I've found is easy to find via Google Earth.

Well, it sounds like we can get about 10 or so people together for a Chi weekend meetup sometime soon... if there's some support for this I can (or someone else can) make a board for planning. I was thinking the weekend of the 17th.
I know of about 30 places, 20 of which aren't really that interesting. Chicago hasn't really paid off the last couple of trips, but it wasn't like I was running with locals. With some ground support I'm sure we can pack-in the win. There are enough 'standards' to do a big guaranteed trip every day with two or three side trips, I'm thinking.
Anyway. Thoughts/input very much invited.
