Adrenaline induced explosive bowels. You're welcome.

Posted by CaptainStormyWhenever possible, we stop by the Taco Bell on Franklin & Hiawatha afterwards. We generally keep our rubber boots/wader, headlamps, ect on. It's always pretty dirty in there already.

You two must go exploring together, then?

My only tradition is, depending on the place, firing up a cigar afterwards.

I personally like to go to places and find the scariest/darkest/most evil/creepy looking corner, hallway, room, tunnel, etc. and draw satanic markings/pentagrams allll over.

This seems to be a tradition a lot of people have. That and white supremest slogans.

Yeah. I always make sure to poop before I go.

I also do this yet I still have to go again when I am exploring. It happens on approximately 70% of my explores. It must be a psychological thing. I do suffer from IBS, but I know that is not the cause. IBS is a totally different animal. I will say that it is pretty comical. Trying to be stealthy while hovering over an abandoned toilet is...well...interesting to say the least.

Yes, I do try to carry tp and/or baby wipes with me.

Only real tradition that me and my buddy have is to ALWAYS, no matter what the weather or even if we failed horribly, to always, every got-damned time get McChickens after an Urbex. We may be sweaty, dirty, smell like coal and rust, but we always get McChickens.

My record is 6.

I effing love McChickens.

At a meetup kickoff, flashlights go on the table so people can find the explorers.

I wore the same belt every time until the belt died. Now I have a similar one.

There aren't enough people here to start real traditions like y'all've got

That flashlight idea is pretty smart.

As I drive to the site, I pray to God to stop me from going through with it.

As I explore I pray I don't die from climbing that rickety 5 story emergency ladder.

As I return home with adrenal glands wrung dry, I thank God for giving this idiot another day to live and explore

I hope to fix that soon, sir!

edit: When I do my urban/rural exploring, I always pick up a pebble or rock from outside of the building and bring it home. I have an old ashtray that has a bunch of rocks. I don't take things from the site, but I figure a pebble is pretty harmless.

Then again, I do that for every state I visit, too-- or any place I visit that is noteworthy.

I also wear the same ragged out adidas shell toes because they're pretty resistant to bites, stubbed toes, and the occasional scraped foot/leg.

We have a tradition to make an effort not to get caught… besides that:

---Local eats at an obscure, but hopefully good place

---If we take the Jeep, we try to find trails

We go to the bakery for bagels before hand, the people there have decided that we must either be terrorists of archaeologist by the insane quanity of maps we usually bring.

I always take a small, worthless memento from every new site I visit, usually old rusty bolts from industrial sites, sometimes something as simple as a paper clip or little piece of wood from a barn

I always wear the same clothes...steel toed boots, thick denim jeans, grey t-shirt, red hoody with no logos...

I usually eat somewhere afterwards as well.
