Scroll down about 2/3 and you will see it. Anyone ever been there? As soon as the snow clears out I know where I'm taking my bike next. It looks like it's not too far east of Tahoe.

Nice find! Looks awesome.

Wonder how safe those upper floors are and whether you'd need gear to get up to them.

Well the hoodlums got up there, so it obviously doesnt take brains and experience.....

An armed society, is a polite society. So lets get to it!

Good find. I'd like to check this out, BLM site says its not demolished yet, so does google maps/earth anyone been out there and know the condition of the road around this time? Is it paved? Its pretty interesting that it was once the largest concrete structure.

that is awesome, and in very good shape too for being 85 years abandoned. I would get my ass over there if I was within a state! Alas. Thank God someone took those photos to preserve the memory.

for some reason I clicked on this post and then closed it, went back in and saw the pics you are talking about. This is locally known as American Flats. Its a huge hang out for paint ballers, high school kids drinking and rumors of satan worshipers.

It is a really cool place to visit, a lot of different stuff to see and explore. There is a concrete pit on the north end next to the giant structure, is has always been full of water as long as I have know(20 years). The pit gos down a couple of flights of stairs that you can see and beyond that I have no idea but rumors say the water is poisoned and I dont doubt.

to the east and behind the photo of the large structure is what looks to be a mine entrance but have not been back lately to see. If you head up to see it try and get ahold of me, it is tricky to find. They have talked for years of taking it down but its just talk so far. on your way up there you pass lots of other places to see and explore as well.
