Neighborhood in Dublin, CA

So, the other day I was driving through Dublin, and there was this whole neighborhood that looked abandoned. It had the streets in to it fenced off, the sound wall had barbed wire on top of it. It was odd to say the least, because from what I saw it didn't look super old. Has anyone else seen this?

Hmmm, that's interesting. I live in that area and I've never seen that before....unless you're talking about the military camp/prisons?

EDIT: Because as far as I know, there's nothing particularly abandoned in Dublin. I've learned that Dublin is only good for drainz

Did a little research. It's called the Arroyo Vista neighborhood. It used to be a low income housing neighborhood, about 150 homes. From what I read, all the houses and buildings fell in to disrepair so the land was sold to developers. Not sure what's left in there.

I grew up in Dublin. Arroyo Vista isn't very exciting. Even when it was full of people. Cops are frequent in the neighborhood too. It really is a bunch of houses and hobos. Waaaay cooler shit in the surrounding area.

We were here...and it was glorious.

It is scheduled for demolition, and will have subsidized housing rebuilt on it, per the Building Planning Commission I spoke to at the Dublin City Hall almost a year ago, while taking care of unrelated business.

When I had moved to Dublin I had noticed this place and always wanted to check it out but didn't until recently. I made one attempt in the day only to find that Dublin PD had posted at one of the gates and had entered from the street side and were looking around the area. I got chased out haha. Second attempt was at night and was pretty creepy. There were one or two bums wandering around near the sound wall but other than that no one else was around. It'd be easy enough to gain access to some buildings with just a phillips screwdriver as thats all thats holding some boards to the houses. Anyhow, here's some shots of the place I grabbed on my phone. I tried to touch them up so they aren't too dark but some of them didnt work out too well :/

Sounds like it will be up for a while, this would be AWESOME to hit.

EDIT: How is this not cool? It's a whole neighborhood abandoned!

EDIT 2: Poster above is correct:
"There's a major controversy over a proposed new housing development that would displace a number of low-income residents in Dublin.

Some who live there worry because this New Year will be the last one for Dublin's Arroyo Vista Community.

"They're moving us out of here and this is the only public housing in the Tri-Valley area," says Rhenae Keyes, Arroyo Vista resident.

By November, the city wants all of Arroyo Vista's 150 units vacant so it can sell the land to two developers.

Last July, the city signed a development agreement to tear down the existing homes and build 405 new condos and apartments. 194 of those will be rented or sold as affordable units. "
