| | | This trip actually happened just after my first time into the Jackling house. I had intended to do some post work on these before posting any of them except for two things: 1) I have way too many pics to do serious work on all of them 2) I'm going to be making a few more trips before the next time I'll have the opportunity to do any post-work at all, resulting in a massive successive backup resulting in me curling into a ball crying out for salvation from my Photoshop illiteracy. So here goes. It was still sort of raining and the area is generally foggy as all god damned hell anyway. I had scouted the area few times before and decided that today was the day. I made sure that there was no car by the security shack and hopped on in. Walked around a lot... sort of pointless really. They all ran together after a while. There were, however, some units that had been worked on, maybe as display units when they were still trying to rent out the place. Still though, generally boring and repetitive. Moldy floor, rusted electric stove, open breaker box, broken glass, rinse repeat. There was one room with a cat in it who freaked the fuck out when I went it. It bolted, FOUR TIMES, straight into a sliding glass door until it bolted out the door behind me and slipped on the wet concrete into a puddle of standing water. Fucking cats. Eventually it started to clear up. The sun was burning off the fog and I knew it was time to go before I got spotted. I went back to my POE when I glanced back at the security shed and saw a white Cruiser staring at me. You would be surprised by what you can make your body do when you're terrified. I never ran so hard or plotted so quickly in my whole life. I spotted a point where the chain fence starts to slope down a hill in front of a wooden fence. I sprinted along the handrail until I got above the chain and leaped. Landed like a fucking pro. I dusted myself off and tried to walk off all non-chalant like. Maybe 15 seconds after I made it over I looked back and there was that white cruiser exactly where I had jumped. I wanted to take a picture of that sad looking car, trapped behind the chain links as I walked away. Definitely won't be going back there again. Absolutely no post-work or correction done yet. These are as they were on my memory card. All pics taken in RAW. All pics are part of a bracket, no blending has been done yet. Not taken with a tripod (really, really regret forgetting my tripod). I'll pick a few that I like, maybe if you guys really like some I'll work on them as well.

| | | And the strip mall probably goes bust in another 10 years and we have another place to explore again.
