|  | | | I used to go to the Sutro Bath House ruins when I was a kid but I never appreciated it until I knew a bit about the history or saw pictures of what it used to be. It opened in 1896, was converted into a ski rink in it's later years, and burnt to the ground in 1966 after being closed for future housing developments. The Cliff House next door is not too shabby either and it's current reincarnation has been around since 1906 with some modern additions. There's even an old Camera Obscura in the back balcony that's hardly ever open.
The whole place is public so it may not be such a daring adventure, but it's worth it. It's just 5 minutes down the highway from the Fleishhacker Pool House, the zoo, the Golden Gate Park, and where Playland used to be.

No problem at all. The last time I went was at night and I didn't get to see anything
