oui, cest vrai... cest shut down last time I went there about a month ago....

okay they put a marvel vs capcom machine and a galaga/ms pacman machine downstairs in the lobby but the arcade upstairs was gone. I had a top score on the SNK vs capcom 2 machine in that arcade :'(

anyone know what happened or were they just renovating or is it gone forever?

j'pense que le bon temps que nous avons eut à l'arcade est maintenant chose du passé.

Mario Bros, Race Driving, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinc, NBA Jam, etc.

On n'aura plus jamais ça avec des joysticks pis des volants de char + clutch.

c'es fini mettre de 20 centimes francais dans la machine!

héhé "Time extension"!

avec race driving il fallait conduire manuel et le char pouvait étouffé assez facilement. C'était un jeu sorti en 1986!

I would love to own a sega naomi, they had such great games on that, dynamite cop being one of them( which was the sequel to die hard arcade ).

I used to like time crisis, house of the dead, rush 2049, all that stuff was great!

Didn't that place open and close like 3-4 times? It was never able to stay running financially.

It was called Jillians at first I think, however I can't remember the other names. All I remember is that it was really expensive. I used to play at 222 in Laval, pinnochio on st-cathrine and 2000++. 222 is far from what it used to be, pinochio closed. 2000++ is the only one left around worth mentioning.

Arcades were a lot of fun back in the day. I didn't mind spending 50 cents or 75 cents for a game ... but over $1 and it wasn't worth it. Jillians had this crazy points system. $5 was worth like 7500 points and each game would be a different amount of points. In the end it was hard to calculate, expensive once you did calculate and you'd always be left over with an odd balance on your game card.

Arcades are a thing of the past. People used to put quarters/tokens on a machine and wait to play them (eg. Dragon's Lair, Galaga, pinball).

With the innovation in video games (X-Box, PS) the arcades have fallen silent.

Williams pinball no longer produces machines, Bally is also history. Stern markets primarily for the home owner now. Even then they only create machines based on a popular theme such as 24, Shrek, Avatar or Iron Man.

During the 70's and 80's you could market and sell a machine based on any theme. Who could ever forget Centaur, that machine scared me as a youth.

Screw Shrek... the 80's were the best!

yeah it was jillians at first... but this time the doors were locked and it looked like it was empty though I couldn't see through the window... that is why I was asking.

pinocchio's was nice, I used to go there often. 2000+ I liked but it isn't that great..

and dan, you guys threw out the arcade machines including a neo geo? ... like the neo geo went in the garbage? the horror of the thought!

We did and it's a shame! At this time nobody wanted that little red cabinet so we threw it away. It was in perfect shape. We should have keeped it !!! Samurai Shodown, Windjammer, Aero fighter... we got rid of a dozen neo-geo arcade cartridges :\ Same thing occured with the MK cabinet and the boards...

If only we knew these things would become hard to find !

galaga etait un ground breaking jeux. From what I understand it was the first time game designers were able to write code for enemy ships to move around the screen like that. My girlfriend loves that game.... I saw a galaga arcade cabinet going for 300 bucks but I didn't get it.
