Sweet demolition.

Posted this place a few weeks ago when it was just abandoned.

Now their driving bulldozers thru them. I was standing next to one building, and it started shaking, as we backed away from it, a floor joist poked out above us. The bulldozer had driven into the building, and pushed the joist out at us.

We decided we were too close, and moved to a safer location. We could still feel the ground shaking, and hear tearing wood, as three large tractors tore these buildings apart.

All I found was a couple of sacks filled with money..........

Didn't those journals get bulldozed with the apt building a few months ago?

I like demolitions in progress because you can see the building construction that is normally covered up. I see a lot of cheap construction and hidden water damage.
A demo contractor I know demolished an 1890's farmhouse with thick siding, sheathing, plaster walls, and full dimension lumber. It put up quite a fight trying to break it up. At one point, he slid the entire house off the foundation intact.

These buildings were made of balsa wood it seems.

Check out how well constructed this building was.
