Video of Abandoned Mines in Warm Spring Canyon in Death Valley < on 10/6/2010 10:16 PM >
Spent the last three days in Death Valley in Warm Spring Canyon. Lots of abandoned mines there. Some are talc mines, others are gold mines. Here are some highlights of the trip if you're interested. The video features dark tunnels, a sunset, bighorn sheep, an abandoned tram, flowers growing in a hot spring, etc. Have fun!

Great video. Near this area (which is one of my favorites in DV) is a mine that is high up in the mountains. Inside of the mine are original artifacts, including canned goods, the miner's overalls, a bedspring (he lived inside of the mine), and various pieces of equipment / full newspapers from the 1930s. I have not been inside, but I have seen photos... It requires a full day hike, and I've always wanted to do it. Bearings: A Geographer's Blog
