| | | I've been doing a little research on the Queen of Sheba Mine in Death Valley National Park, but I can't seem to find a lot of information on it. Does anybody know if this mine is worth checking out and exploring? It's not too far off the beaten path, so maybe nothing is left there anymore. I've read, though, that there is still a mill there and some other structures along with several mine portals. Anybody have any comments?

| | | Call the park's head geologist. If u talk with a ranger they'll say stay out and hang up.

| | | I had a google - lots of pictures of the ruins but no tunnel. Read the second sentence... http://www.nps.gov...va/section3a12.htm Wonder if it's still open. [last edit 9/27/2010 6:52 PM by Dav - edited 1 times]

| | | May I suggest exploring with other mine enthusiasts? You have a NSS grotto in San Diego.

| | | I found the Queen of Sheba information page here on the UER website, so that answered most of my questions. Looks like a nice site! Not sure what condition the four-mile access road will be in which one has to drive on in order to get to the site.
