| | | There is up to 4 sub-levels, unfortunately without the sub-pumps running the lower areas have filled with water over the last 30 years.

| | | Parts of Dawson Forest are like a city lost in a jungle. I sure wish I was a better photographer. Willing to take a good photographer on a guided tour though. FYI to anyone interested in meeting up for an exploration, I am not into spray paint or fire. [last edit 9/22/2010 2:20 AM by Ammoclip - edited 1 times]

Haha ghetto flame-thrower! Seriously, I am pretty new to the social networking urbex. I didn't think much about vandals and arsonist until I read the forum rules. I really had no clue there were so many ppl trolling this website with eager spray cans and gas cans. Bottom line is that I just wanna go explore and have fun! Why ppl got to throw paint and flames into the mix to make it complicated!?!?! [last edit 9/22/2010 11:45 PM by Ammoclip - edited 1 times]

I will certainly be careful with information on other sites. In this case the more publicity GNAL gets, the better. Get enough ppl checking it out and someone is probably going to dig out a covered tunnel entrance. Not like arsonist can burn concrete either haha. As for pictures, I am taking some people there soon who are much better with photography. Be looking for fantastic shots in the near future!

| | | There's a good writeup about this place here: advrider*com/forums/showthread.php?t=405686 (Replace the * with a . I don't want to post a live link traceable back to this thread) Lots of pictures on the second page (one of the pics in this thread was taken from there). I'd be very weary of actually entering the hot cell building and/or the tunnel systems for obvious reasons. [last edit 9/23/2010 9:38 PM by LuckyBailey - edited 3 times]

| | | I did not think about getting photos in the early 1990s when I was last inside. Pictures would be great! I had no idea they'd weild steel plates over the doors! lol I remember it looked really cool with water trickling down from the opening in the roof. Actually, that site stole the pictures from dudemandillondog, who took some great underground photos. See his 15 underground pictures at http://gnal.insidious-cunning.com under the photos section.

Though farther away than the site talked about in this thread, that site is definitely on my list to hit up in the next few weeks. Fortunately or unfortunately, however you look at it, any pics I take won't be anywhere near as good as the documentation already here. But it will still be a very fun trip.

| | | The radiation is currently measured at GNAL via little black baskets you will find occasionally pinned on fences. Inside is a little strip. I don't know much about the baskets, or how often they are checked. I happened to find one not in use anymore.
One of the end caps slides off for strip access.
