| | | couldn't find much information about this location online or in news, but it was a church called mount zion spiritual temple. it doesn't even really look abandoned from the outside but when you go in there is no ceiling, which is super cool. hella sick graffiti.

37°48'41.39"N - 122°17'36.84"W Is this it? If so, I have pictures of it back from 2005. They were shit photos, but I got in a few days after the fire, and it was still full all of the religious items.

That seems to be the right place (Google Maps, replace the - with a ,). The place seems to be burnt up for awhile, even the Sat view of Google Maps shows that it is burnt...

Sadly there are forces beyond myself that keep me from uploading(a broken scanner and the pictures are in Los Angeles) But as soon as i get a chance, I'll post them. There were some fun things in there, like painted statues of black saints with glass eyeballs, scorched with parts of the face missing.

| | | This sounds awesome. A church without a roof? I'm there! Thanks for sharing. I'm planning to scope out the place tomorrow.

| | | Yup, that's the place. Went there last weekend and it was pretty cool. Not as cool as I was imagining, but still really cool. PoiToi I didn't see your message otherwise I would have totally been down to meet up. There was a random woman standing on the corner right in front of the building when I first drove by, so I decided to drive somewhere less sketchy to get something to eat. Almost an hour later, I drive back and the SAME WOMAN is still standing there in the same position. I think she might have been a hooker or something. Anyway, I decided to ignore her and explore the building anyway. She stared at me with a confused look as I walked around looking for the best entry point. I thought I would have to hop over the gate into this alleyway (see photos) but I didn't really feel like doing that being the lazy mofo that I am, so I tried the most obvious thing in the world thinking there was no way it would work. It totally did [Okay, so for some reason the Gallery Creator does not want to upload my photos, what the hell? I'll try again later. It was a lot of fun exploring that church though, and those chairs are still set up in that exact same row in front of the raised preacher's stage]

May I ask what she looked like? When I was in oakland in 05 before I lived here, I was shown around by a few people, one of which lives close to the church. It's how I got in actually. She was friends with the people who were cleaning up after the fire. If it is who I think it is, that is no hooker.
